From Wednesday 24rd September we will be training at Derby Moor Community Sports College, at 7.30pm until 8.30pm. Please ensure all players wear appropriate clothing and bring a drink.

Match Report

Dazzlers 3 v Alvaston Rangers 2

First Half
The first half of this match was frustrating to say the least. Alvaston Rangers played with a well marshalled back line that played the offside trap with great effect and we were unable to adapt our game around this. In total we were caught offside 11 times in the half!! Within the first 5 minutes Alavston Rangers took the lead after some poor play by Dazzlers. As the half progressed Dazzlers continued to struggle and became more and more frustrated by not being able to get around the offside trap. Daniel Curtin equalised on the half hour which should have been the point where we dug in and held our own but that was not to be. Almost immediately Rangers broke away and after a trip in the box were awarded a penalty that was duely scored. It was at this point that we did seem to start to wake up and created a few chances without really troubling the keeper too much. The half ended with us a goal down.

Second Half

After a heart to heart at half time I was really pleased with the response from the players. The tempo was upped, the tackles became more meaningful and all in all we played with more desire. Dan Curtin pulled us level within the first 15 minutes and we really were dominating the bulk of the play. Although we were forcing the game we couldn'nt add to the score, a combination of some poor finishing and decisions up front along with some good goal keeping kept the scores level. There was a scare at our end when James Whittaker was forced into a double goalmouth clearance and Sean Holmes had to tip a shot over the bar. The lads plugged away and Dan Curtin scored the winner to complete his hatrick with the last kick of the game.

Man of the Match

You can never discount anyone who goes out and scores an hatrick so well done to Dan. Also Brandon Walsh had a great game on the left of midfield with some great passing and running.
