Match Report
Littleover Dazzlers vs Mackworth St Francis Tigers
Brendan Conway- manager - 21/12/2008
First Half
Today’s starting team was Diontai in goals who produced some good saves. Defence was looked after by Alex Chan and Aaran Sohal who shown good tackling but at times in the first half went wondering too far forward. Midfield today was Billy Watson who should be proud of himself creating plenty of chances but still not shooting. And the captain Liam Johnson continued upfront scoring yet again. In a battling first half the players never really got going and were letting mackworth have far too much space to work in. All the players were running too far forward leaving no defence which caused great problems. After a while they adapted and starting playing much better. Gracie pearson came off the bench to produce another solid display and so did Rahul Basi who was making sure his players never passed him.Second Half
After a very strong half time team talk the players came out a different team. The team started to keep to there positions. Jayden Malhi came on in defence alongside Aaran and Max Appleby went in goals making some outstanding saves. Again we were creating chances but couldn’t put them away. Liam kept the defenders very busy running at them but was denied by a great mackworth goalkeeping display. As the match went on the team grew in confidence and were working hard as a team against a very tough mackworth side. It was clear to see at the end that the players had enjoyed themselves and should be proud of there performance today.
Man of the Match
Today’s player of the match goes to Billy Watson who has shown all season signs of being a great player. He creates so many chances and if only he would shoot more he would outstanding. Great performance today Billy keep it up!!!
